Pinecones & Podz & Materials Needed ~
A variety of little pinecones or pods can be used for this project! You can make so many different ornaments using different colors of pods and little cones.
Bag of the little pinecones cones, pods or acorn caps.
Use each pod individually. Examples: Hemlock Cones, Small Meridianum Cones,
Eucalyptus Pods,Small
Putka Pods, Acorns or Acorn Caps,
White Pinecone tops, Bakuli Pods and
Casuarina Pods
Pinecones & Podz & Materials Needed ~ Styrofoam Ball Glue Gun & Glue Sticks {Low Temp!} Wire Cutters or Dremel Tool Ribbon Piece of Mistletoe or other Greenery
How to Put it All Together ~
For an Ornament ~
Make a loop of ribbon long enough for a hanger.
Knot the bottom and add a dab of hot glue to the knot. Poke it into the styrofoam ball. Glue Hemlock pinecones, or whichever little pod or cap you chose,
onto the styrofoam ball, working from the top, around and down. Make a bow, and glue on top of ball, in between the hanger. Add some small gold or silver little pinecones or other decorations to the bow.
for a Kissing Ball ~
Make a loop of ribbon long enough for a hanger. Knot the bottom and add a dab of hot glue to the knot. Poke it into the styrofoam ball.
Glue Hemlock pinecones or pods around a styrofoam ball, working from the top, around and down.
Wrap a few ribbons around the ball and tie together at the bottom. Attach a bit of mistletoe to hang down below the ball.
for a
White Pinecone Flower Kissing Ball ~
Make a loop of ribbon long enough for a hanger.
Knot the bottom and add a dab of hot glue to the knot.
Poke it into the styrofoam ball.
Cut the tops off of the
Eastern White Pinecones with your wire cutters or dremel.
Glue the pinecone "flowers" to the styrofoam ball.
Fill in the spaces with
Hemlock cones or
Casuarina
pods or small acorns.
for a
Halloween Pumpkin Ornament Ball~
Follow the directions above, but use very small Orange Putka pods.
Tie a green ribbon for the loop at the top.
For the mouth and eyes, use your darkest putka colors {purple or burgundy}.
Put some extra greens on the top! |
